A new medical plan for you

Your NRS Medical Plan is a collaborative Human Resource initiative of ten CGIAR centres including IRRI.
Administered by IRRI on behalf of the participating centres, your plan provides you comprehensive coverage with an annual medical maximum benefit limit (MBL) of US$25,000 per member per year.
Currently the plan is managed by Cigna, a leading insurance broker and consultant with extensive global experience in the non-profit sector. For more information, please refer to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about the NRS Medical Plan.

A customized medical plan

Medical coverage of a maximum US$25,000 per member per calendar year
Expenses for outpatient and in-patient medical treatment 100% reimbursed
Expenses for dental (80%) and psychiatric (50%) treatment reimbursed. A maximum of $500 and $600, respectively, per member per calendar year
Reimbursement of medical expenses related to the HIV virus. This includes the cost of medication, testing, vaccines, and consultation
Emergency treatment is covered anywhere in the world (except US and Singapore)
A plan with comprehensive coverage
Covers you, your spouse or domestic partner (including those above 65 years old), and your dependant children (both adopted and biological) below 21 years old

In-patient treatment or hospitalization: This is any medical treatment that requires admission to a care provider for at least one overnight stay.
What is covered?
The following costs of hospital services (in-hospital treatment) and day surgery are 100% reimbursed:
- Bed and board (maximum rate: semi-private)
- Doctor’s fees
- General nursing service
- Use of operating rooms and equipment
- Use of recovery rooms and equipment
- Laboratory examinations
- X-ray examinations
- Drugs and medicine for use in the hospital
Hospitalization in an accredited care provider
Hospitalization in a non-accredited care provider
Outpatient Treatment: This is any medical treatment that does not require an overnight stay.
What is covered?
Consultation, professional fees, prescription drugs, and diagnostic procedures.
Outpatient treatment in a care provider with direct billing arrangement
Outpatient treatment in a care provider without direct billing arrangement
